RONGO-A hidden hamlet of DOOARS
Rongo, the small village is situated on top of a hill at an altitude of 4500 feet near Bhutan boarder. Rongo or Rongu serve as the Headquarter of Cinchona Plantation under Kalimpong subdivision.
Now Cinchona plantation is gradually giving way to rubber plantation. Rongo offers beautiful views of surrounding hills, forests and Jaldhaka river valley.
It is one of the doorway to the Neora Valley National Park. Most people are Buddhist and speak Nepali. A tiny remote village having a market, post office and few houses in its locality.
The population of Rongu is about 500 people. Rongu does not feature as one of the most famous tourist destinations of North Bengal. But the natural beauty of this hill and the hospitality of the local people draws many a travel enthusiasts to this less known hill station.

They have 6 rooms in total out of that 4 is attach toilets & bathrooms and two is nonattached toilet and bath.
How to go:One can reach from Bagdogra Airport or New Jalpaiguri Railway Station via Siliguri along national highway 31 i.e. Dooars crossing Chalsa and turning left at Khunia More via Chapramari, Sepchu, Gairibas. From Gairibas an uneven motorable road turns towards left to Rongo nearly 7 kilometers to Rongo.

What is the nearest railhead?
I have tickets upto Falakata in 3rd week if february. Would it be prudent to visit in such time with a 3 yr old?
