Runglee Rungliot Among the famous Tea estates in Darjeeling district, Runglee Rungliot is one of them. It is actually one of the oldest tea brands of Duncans. Meaning of Runglee Rungliot is ‘this far and no further’. If anyone is visiting Takdah region, they must visit this place. One can visit the estate factories and watch the tea processing but not in winters as it is usually remain closed during winter. There are some locals who lived near the tea estates and work in the tea processing factories. The picturesque view from the tea garden will surely mesmerize one. You can explore the place by walking through the tea gardens and by interacting with the locals. How to reach: The distance of this tea estate from New Jalpaiguri railway station is approximately 80 km and it will take around 3 hours to reach Takdah. From the Teesta Bridge, the main road is bifurcated in two, one is going towards Kalimpong and the another one is going towards Darjeeling. After taking the road towards Darjeeling, first you will cross the Teesta Rangit Confluence view point i.e., Lover’s meet view point and then you will cross Peshok tea garden. After crossing Peshok, you can take the left side road which is going towards Tinchuley. Here the road is not in good condition. শিবখোলা-অহলদাঁড়া ভ্রমণকাহিনী : শীতের সন্ধ্যার নিশ্ছিদ্র অন্ধকারকে ভেদ করে যখন পূর্ণ-চন্দ্র তার অপরুপ রুপ-মাধুর্যের ডালি নিয়ে অহলদাঁড়ার পাহাড়ে উদ্ভাসিত হল তখন অপেক্ষমান বঙ্গকূলবর্গের আকর্ণরঞ্জিত হাস্যধারা এবং সম্মিলিত কলতান বৃক্ষকোটরে সুখনিদ্রামগ্ন বিহঙ্গকূলকেও জানান দিয়ে গেল “শহুরে অভ্যাসের দাসত্ব ধ্যানমগ্ন পাহাড়েও জলজ্যান্ত রুপে প্রতীয়মান” । চন্দ্রালোকিত অহলদাড়ার শীর্ষদেশে দাঁড়িয়ে দুরের কাঞ্চনজঙ্ঘার আবছা অবয়ব মনের ক্যানভাস রাঙিয়ে দিয়ে গেল, কিন্ত্তু ইঁট-কংক্রীটের জঙ্গল থেকে পালিয়ে এসেও রেহাই পেলাম কই? অপরাধ মার্জনা করবেন, অকস্মাৎ রবি ঠাকুরের প্রতি একটু জেলাস হয়ে পড়লাম, আমসত্ত্ব-দুধকলার কম্বিনেশনে হাপুস-হুপুস শব্দের মাঝেও একমাত্র তাঁর মতো মহামানব-ই পারেন চারপাশের লুকিয়ে থাকা নিস্তব্ধতাকে খুঁজে নিতে । ঘড়িতে সাড়ে ৮টা বাজার ইঙ্গিত মিলতেই পাহাড়ী দাজু এসে রাতের আহার শেষ করে ওদের তাড়াতাড়ি ছুটি দেবার মিনতি জানিয়ে গেল । কিন্তু মনে হলনা তা আদৌ কারোর ‘কর্ণ বেয়ে মর্মে পশিল’ । আরো আধঘন্টা জানুয়ারীর প্রথম সপ্তাহের পাহাড়ী ঠান্ডাটা উপেক্ষা করে কাটিয়ে দিলাম । শীতটা জাঁকিয়ে পড়ার উপক্রম হতেই ধীরলয়ে চন্দ্রশোভা অবলোকন করার লোকের সংখ্যাও কমতে থাকল । ঘড়ির কাঁটা ৯টা পেরোতেই রাতের রুটি-মাংসের বরাদ্দ উদরস্হ করে, গরম পানীয় জলের বোতল কব্জা করে যখন কোয়েচা কোম্পানী-নির্মিত তাঁবুর সামনে এসে দু-দন্ড দাঁড়ালাম, তখনও দুই বীরপুঙ্গব তাৎক্ষনিক স্বর্গসুখ লাভের আশায় কিংবা শীতজয়ের দুরন্ত প্রয়াসে নিভন্ত বনফায়ারের সামনে ঈশ্বরীয়(?) বোতলে স্বেচ্ছাবন্দী । তাঁবুর উষ্ণতায় নিজেকে সেঁকে নিতে নিতে তিন বান্ধব নিজেদের অস্হি-মজ্জা-চর্মকে শ্লিপিংব্যাগরূপী শীতবর্মের মাঝে সমর্পণ করলাম । ‘অদ্যই শেষ রজনী’, কাল ফিরতে হবে শহুরে কোলাহলমুখর কংক্রীটের জঙ্গলে যেখানে প্রচলিত প্রফেশনাল ইঁদুর-দৌড়ে আমিও এক অদক্ষ প্রতিযোগী । প্রকৃতি মায়ের কাছে প্রার্থণা করলাম এই ভ্রমণকে আবার রিওয়াইন্ড করে দেবার জন্য । বাস্তবে যদি নাও বা হয়, অন্ততঃ সুখস্বপ্নে… । ওয়েলস সাহেব কেন যে শুধু টাইমমেশিনের গল্পটা লিখেই ক্ষান্ত হলেন; ফরমূলাটা একবার হাতে পেলে লড়ে যেতাম । অতএব “মন চলো নিজ...

This lesser known beach is just 4 hours journey away from Kolkata. This place is Surrounded by ‘Jhau’ trees. Long Beach,golden sand, red crabs are the most attractive point of this beach. You will feel like Robinson Crusoe in this isolated place. What to see and do: Spend your leisure time, stroll along the long Beach during sunrise and sunset, enjoy the loneliness of the beach with red crabs. Even the beach is safe for taking bath,so you may take a sea bath there. How to go: Take a train from Howrah to Kanthi, take an Auto from Kanthi to reach Boguran Jalpai, the auto will cost nearly 250-300 bucks. RONGO-A hidden hamlet of DOOARS Rongo, the small village is situated on top of a hill at an altitude of 4500 feet near Bhutan boarder. Rongo or Rongu serve as the Headquarter of Cinchona Plantation under Kalimpong subdivision. Now Cinchona plantation is gradually giving way to rubber plantation. Rongo offers beautiful views of surrounding hills, forests and Jaldhaka river valley. It is one of the doorway to the Neora Valley National Park. Most people are Buddhist and speak Nepali. A tiny remote village having a market, post office and few houses in its locality. The population of Rongu is about 500 people. Rongu does not feature as one of the most famous tourist destinations of  North Bengal. But the natural beauty of this hill and the hospitality of the local people draws many a travel enthusiasts to this less known hill station. Staying option : Two Home stays are there.
