Tawang: Tawang is a beautiful town situated between the border of Bhutan and China (China occupied Tibet). This beautiful town is surrounded by high hills, the glimpses view of Tawang Monastery can be seen all over the town. Tawang Local Sightseeing:   Tawang Monastery: This is the largest monastery of India and 2nd second largest monastery in the world after the Potala Palace in Lasha, Tibet. This monastery is the collage of 17 gompas and 65 residential building. In Tibetan Tawang monastery is known as Golden Namgey Lhatse, which translate to Celestial Paradise in a clear night. This place is totally quite and deserted. The building has only stupas inside. This scenic location ensures that the tourists get a chance to soak in the pristine nature while admiring the deeds of Indian soldiers. Runglee Rungliot Among the famous Tea estates in Darjeeling district, Runglee Rungliot is one of them. It is actually one of the oldest tea brands of Duncans. Meaning of Runglee Rungliot is ‘this far and no further’. If anyone is visiting Takdah region, they must visit this place. One can visit the estate factories and watch the tea processing but not in winters as it is usually remain closed during winter. There are some locals who lived near the tea estates and work in the tea processing factories. The picturesque view from the tea garden will surely mesmerize one. You can explore the place by walking through the tea gardens and by interacting with the locals. How to reach: The distance of this tea estate from New Jalpaiguri railway station is approximately 80 km and it will take around 3 hours to reach Takdah. From the Teesta Bridge, the main road is bifurcated in two, one is going towards Kalimpong and the another one is going towards Darjeeling. After taking the road towards Darjeeling, first you will cross the Teesta Rangit Confluence view point i.e., Lover’s meet view point and then you will cross Peshok tea garden. Chillipam Monastery: This is the only monastery built by Chinese architect. So the Chinese architecture reflects throughout the monastery. The beautiful Chillipam monastery is on a hillock near to Rupa town. One has to take deviation from Rupa to go upwards the hill to reach this picturesque hillock. Many travellers trends to skip Chillipam considering they are visiting Tawang Monastery but the natural beauty of this monastery is unbeatable.                       Rout to take: Visit Tenga on the way to Bomdila from Bhalukpong. Just after Tenga market towards Bomdila,there is a bridge towards Roopa. Take left and follow the rout to Roopa valley and then ask people for the road towards Chillipam, they will guide you. There is only one road going upwards to the Chillipam,no diversion is there. Special Note: Search Sangngang Choekhor Dargyeling Monastery in google map, rest let the map to direct you towards Chillipam.
